Vita Laboratoriot will change over to the My+® laboratory information system. The target is to meet future healthcare challenges and ensure effective tools and processes for staff. The decision will also advance the production of Finnish health care software systems.

Vita Laboratoriot is a Finnish family enterprise that provides premium laboratory services for both private and public sectors. Among other things, Vita is one of the largest Covid-19 PCR test laboratories in Finland, and its central laboratory in Hernesaari, Helsinki, employs 130 laboratory professionals and support staff.

Vita Laboratoriot and Mylab have cooperated for several years with Mylab providing data transfer service My+ hub between Vita’s customers. In the spring of 2021, Vita decided to change over to the My+ system, which is the most widely used healthcare laboratory information system in Finland.

LIS system that supports the needs for future healthcare

It is highly significant for us to use Finnish laboratory diagnostics. Using a Finnish laboratory information system ensures that system support is easily accessible and that the software is developed meeting the needs of healthcare in Finland. It is important for us to be at the forefront of development and to provide our staff with effective and user-friendly tools and processes. Our customers perceive the effectiveness of the system in the rapid delivery of laboratory results to physicians and patients, says Heikki Hurme, Business Director of Vita Laboratoriot.

Changing the laboratory information system will be a demanding project that will be fully completed remotely. Introducing a new laboratory information system will also provide an excellent opportunity for process assessment. Vita aims to build long-term, close-knit cooperation with Mylab.

Mylab is pleased to increase its cooperation with Vita with our My+ system. Vita has a significant role in Finnish laboratory diagnostics, and the future of our cooperation looks bright, says Samuli Niiranen, CEO of Mylab.

Vita sees a modern and versatile laboratory information system as an advantage when recruiting new employees.

Candidates ask us what laboratory information systems we use, and it is an advantage if our laboratory information system has a good reputation. In the best cases, the new employee is already familiar with the system, Hurme says.
